James Chappell III got his start in music at the age of 4 years old. John A. Harris, his grandfather, was a major influence in his life. James’ soulful vocals are rooted in growing up in church and leading many of the family’s Gospel songs. He’s been eager, wanting to use the gift that God gave him. During high school, James won various awards, including Best Male Vocalist at Bloomfield High Gospel Show in 1995. James was a major influence in helping his school Gospel Choir receive awards in multiple talent shows.  As James matured, his love for various genres of music grew. I was forced to come out using my middle name. However, there’s a phenomenal irony to this circumstance. Marcus Green aka Same Ol G, was born in Quincy, FL to Bishop Willie C. Green and Lady Diane Green (Prelate of Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction Of Florida North‐ west COGIC). Same Ol G grew up playing the drums for Quincy and Community Deliverance COGIC where his father was the pastor and founder, but he strayed away from the church once he became grown. Same Ol G eventually joined the US Army and served for about 7 years. During his time in the Army and shortly after getting out of the Army, he became more involved in the street life and found himself in and out of trouble. Same Ol G also found his gift and passion and started rapping while he was in the streets living in sin. In Aug 2013, Same Ol G gave his life to Christ and decided to give up rapping and  live for God after having a life changing experience. 2020 has started out pretty well. I’ve been in the studio working on new music as well as promoting the single “I Believe” which was released in Nov. of 2019 and the new new single which I just released in February of 2020 entitled “No Turning Back.” Both are awesome songs.   "I Believe" was birthed out of the question that Jesus asked Martha during the time of Lazarus’s death (Jn 11:21-27)…which at that time, Jesus had been sharing His message and had performed numerous of miracles but yet in the midst of her pain from the loss of her brother, Martha forgot (if but for an instant) who Jesus was. I imagine that there has been a time like that for believers in Christ…where in midst of our trials and tribulations..we have to continue to exercise our faith and remember who has ALL POWER and who HOLDS OUR TOMORROW.
