God First!

Nate Howell Featured In #LOV3RZ Magazine May Edition, coming on April 25th! I’ve been writing songs for many years as a passion I’ve fell in love with. I mostly kept them on to myself. I didn’t play an instrument then, but I always kept a melody of how I wanted things to sound. I tried working with different musicians to help bring my sound to life, but that never worked out the way I always hoped it would. That was frustrating in itself, but last this time, my wife of 5 years and I were hoping to become pregnant, but that also never happened. As a person who is married, we tend to have the desire to become parents. That desire grew stronger with every passing day/week/month and then year. Between the inability to become pregnant and having songs in me that musicians weren’t helping, that caused a lot of questioning God and upset with how it felt, the hand that he dealt.  Catch Nate's full story, coming soon! Having said this, it is with gratitude and humility that I write about my holiday offering, Lester McLean - A Mostly A Capella Christmas. This record was released on November 24th, 2014 and is my manifestation of a tradition that started in 2003. Back in the day, I wrote Christmas cards to friends and family. It was something that I made sure that I did every year but as the time went on, it became a cumbersome activity. Then it hit me. I am a musician. I would write a song for everybody that I know and send it out via mp3. The first song was called "Don't Make Me Go To The Mall." I love Christmas, but I...

Her love for music began at an early age. For the first time at seven years old she sung two solo selections: "Rise Again" by Dallas Holm and "I Surrender All" by CeCe Winans in Spanish. I don't want anyone who sees or listens to me to see or hear me, but to see and hear God working through me. Today, I am thankful and grateful for God's grace and mercy in my life. If it wasn't for God, I honestly don't know where I'd be. My message to everyone is to be the change you want to see in the world. Vibes are contagious so why not spread positive ones? Motivate and inspire others daily. You never know who you may bless by doing so.
