Samaria Kelly Featured In #MusicLov3rz October!

Samaria Kelly is known as “The Uplifting Purpose Pusher and is an emerging force in the music and entrepreneurship world. She has been featured in The US Reporter, La Wire, Chicago Journal and NY Weekly. Samaria is a native of Cincinnati, OH but currently calls Houston, TX home. She wears many hats as a contemporary Christian songstress, published author , nurse, mental health advocate and stay at home mom. Through her music she always imagined a peculiar sound that would go beyond the traditional walls to reach diverse people and bring them an intriguing encounter with Jesus. Her sound is moving, unique, and optimistic with an urban pop twist. Some of her influences are Mary Mary, Mandisa and Yolanda Adams. Her journey began as a solo lead in her church choir @ St. John Baptist Church in Columbia, MS at the age of 6, from there she had the pleasure of traveling with her local high school show choir ,The Hattiesburg expressions and participating in numerous talent shows in which she was acclaimed first place . She has graced platforms such as sharing a stage with Dr. Bobby Jones, auditions for Sunday’s Best and becoming a finalist for America’s Got Anointing.

In 2014, she attempted to record her first single “He’s Here”,which will debut on her upcoming I am Victory project set to launch mid 2022, which is all centered around freedom in Jesus, for whom the son sets free is free indeed, Hallelujah! She has truly been set free. Inspired by years of bondage and captivity that rooted from past trauma. Life threw many curveballs around this time and it did not transpire. One major tragedy that superseded the trials was the loss of her biggest supporter, her mother; this with the lack of genuine support and education in the music industry pushed her into depression. It’s a complicated and intimidating system without proper guidance, but she always felt appointed for a special mission for The Kingdom of God and knew her love for God, music and His people will lead her back home somehow; when God chooses you for an assignment, it haunts you until you complete it. She could no longer ignore the poke of the call. She hopes to hear from The Father well done my good and faithful servant after all.

Samaria accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of 18 and has spent over 14 years serving God's people in the hospitality and nursing fields and accumulated a plethora of leadership awards and recognition for being someone who is always willing and ready to bring you a smile, encouragement, and support in the time of need. Since stepping away from full-time nursing last year 2020, not only is she pursuing her music, she has launched several digital products and her very own consulting and publishing entity that caters to faith-based small businesses, aspiring and indie artists. Samaria has always envisioned herself in music ministry in addition to starting her own business. She knew this was her dream so she took the challenges as opportunities to spend time researching and learning everything she could about the music business and in the process built worthy connections and has gained access to many resources that has helped her reach new levels in wisdom and has afforded her the ability to share and pour into others on a path similar to herself. She believes in the philosophy that our gifts will make room for us and there is enough room for everyone!

Samaria is a survivor of sexual abuse, depression and domestic violence on top of divorce and for many years lived feeling unfulfilled and could not seem to reach her desirable goals in music ministry. Self-doubt and insecurities ruled her mind. Those traumatic experiences held her in bondage for many years and caused her to develop imposter syndrome. This experience inspired her first published book Perfectly Flawed, a 30-day devotional on how to accept and love you by seeing you through His eyes for anyone who is in a personal prison due to unfortunate past events that were never properly dealt with who are ready to be released. It took her to be dedicated to spend time with God and do some serious soul searching to understand who she is and how that pain was connected to her assignment and now she is a powered vessel of hope on a mission to uplift, heal and transform lives around the world through her music.

Her most recent release, her debut uplifting anthem “as long as I got breath” is the first to be introduced from her upcoming I am Victory album which is now available on all streaming platforms; this song was birthed out of her survival of COVID and although COVID has been a tragic event for us all, it was a blessing in disguise for her, she was able to grab the pen again after a 7 year hiatus to refocus and pursue the call. She hopes this song brings hope and encourages those going through these tough times to hold on and don’t give up! One of her favorite scriptures that reminds her of this everyday comes from Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this, that he that began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Get ready to experience a true lifting of your soul with her music. When she is not impacting others or doing Kingdom work, she enjoys spending time with her one bundle of joy, her son Josiah.
