Producer/ Artist / Engineer “Voice The Name” a.k.a “Voice,” born Nicholas B. Gomez II, from San Antonio, TX, was raised in a family of five household. Being the only boy, and the middle child in a broken home, he was determined to succeed in life as his parents separated the summer before his senior year of high school and divorced. Voice graduated from George W. Brackenridge High School in 2003 and continued his education at the college level by attending San Antonio College, where he received an Associates degree for Liberal Arts in 2006. With Hip Hop & Rap as his preferred genres of music at the time, production from the likes of Super Producers such as The Neptunes, Timbaland & Just Blaze caught his ear. Curious as to how the music all came together, Voice started buying equipment and began putting together instrumentals using Garage Band, Propellerhead Reason and a JUNO-D Midi Keyboard. While learning the craft of music production, Voice continued to pursue a Bachelor’s degree at The University of Texas at San Antonio, but with the birth of his first child, he quit school and began working Full-Time to support his daughter and his first wife. With trials and tribulations, by 2009, Voice was a single father, separated from his wife and an aspiring beat maker who was in over his head. With responsibilities on his plate and dreams to pursue, Voice started hustling in the streets while working a Full-Time and Part-Time job in order to fund his dream and provide for his daughter.

In 2010, at the age of 25, Voice started his own production label, District Ave. Productions, and started paving his way in the local and secular Hip Hop & Rap scene, performing his own music and producing for other artists. He started meeting artists and attending shows in the San Antonio & Austin areas, promoting himself with Beat CD’s and mix-tapes compiled with artist collaborations. He continued growing in his craft and learning the ins and outs of the music industry, working on his production skills, engineering skills and even writing skills. As time went on, Voice was finding his music incomplete with no reliable artist to help him through his journey and no one to help him promote the dream he was trying to achieve. In 2012, he made the decision to start rapping on his own beats to make sure his vision was heard. Voice put together his own mix-tapes and even produced his first album at the time, “First Rounds On Me.” The album was completed but never fully released.

In 2014, while still producing new music and with a push from his oldest sister, Voice applied himself and got back into college. He attended The University of Texas at San Antonio and in 2017 he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications. During his journey to receive a Bachelors degree, all the while still hustling in the streets and working a Full-Time job, he started taking his relationship with GOD a little more seriously and started reading different doctrines and even fasting. Born a Catholic, realizing the error in his religion according to Biblical scripture, he renounced his ties to the Catholic Church and decided to move forward as a Non-Denominational Christian. Pursing righteousness, at the age of 30, Voice was baptized and gave his life to God. In 2016, he married his second wife and with the grace of GOD brought forth two sons. Voice’s love for GOD and never ending passion for music prompted his decision to use his talents and start a ministry through music. He released his first Christian/Gospel album “ SERVANT TO A KING” in October 2021 and continues to create music that is led by the Spirit of GOD. Aside from music, Voice hits the streets once a week, ministering to people and preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. He plans to continue his ministry in music in order to glorify the Kingdom of God.
