Tamara D. Lloyd Featured In #MusicLov3rz Magazine May!
While some people are gifted, there are some that are a gift. Tamara D. Lloyd is a gift; to the world and to the body of Christ at large. The more she matures, the more the gift matures.
Tamara was born on October 23, 1970 in Melrose Park, Ill. and resided in Maywood during her childhood. She was raised at the J.W. James Memorial A.M.E. Church where she served faithfully since the age of three, singing in the Children’s Choir. She astounded her parents, family, and friends when at that age she could sing in perfect harmony. Her love for music was cultivated by her mother Yvonne Smith, who was the church’s pianist, and her aunt Irene Harvey, who wrote all of the music for the Children’s Choir. Early in her life she could sense the call of God for greatness. She participated in musical theatre and acted in many productions with Moody Bible Institute. Most notably she played the part of Evilene in the smash hit production of “The Wiz”.
After High School a series of events led her to reaffirm and return to her fervent relationship with the Lord. She was accepted at Rhema Bible Training Center, Broken Arrow, Ok. She graduated in 1996 and has since that time served the Lord faithfully.
In 1998 she realized a childhood dream and relocated to Atlanta, Ga. Regrettably life would take a series of unfortunate turns. Family rejection, marital rejection, no support in her life’s dream and calling in music, and for five years the gift was silent. While working on her marriage with virtually no spousal support, and revealed infidelities, things became progressively worse. In the interim, three
beautiful children were born. Yet and still, the marriage deteriorated. Ultimately, physical abuse became a factor and the marriage ended. The cruel irony is that Tamara was pregnant with a fourth child unbeknownst to her. The divorce papers were delivered to her in the hospital, on the day the fourth child was born.
In 2013 the spoke to her concerning a business for independent artists and producers. Tvox Sound, LLC was born. This business has enjoyed great success as she has provided industry level background vocals, production work, and consulting for artists and producers at affordable prices.
The challenges were not over, however. In August of 2017, after suffering more at the hands of family her body became gravely ill. She was hospitalized for over 30 days and went into renal failure. Now she faced the tedium of dialysis. During this time, Tamara prayed for death. “Lord, just take me.” One day during her hospital stay while walking the halls, the Holy Spirit reminded her of prophetic word she received prior to her admittance into the hospital. She was convinced life was not over. I shall not die but live and declare the works of the Lord!!
Through diligent study and research, she found a product that was able to lower her creatinine levels. During this time, the Lord spoke again, Tvox Sound Records was born.
In January of 2018 the Doctor removed her from dialysis as her kidneys were healed. However, the gift was not complete. One day while walking through her home, the catheter miraculously fell out of her body and landed on the floor. No blood loss, no difficulty, no pain; by the miraculous power of God, He expelled the catheter, requiring no surgery.
