David Johnson is a young innovative visionary that is insightful and determined to get the job done, whether it be through music, film making, or game design. Born into a musical family, music came as natural as breathing.

David began playing drums at an early age. Later, he became interested in songwriting, so he picked up keyboard, guitar, and bass guitar. Once he grabbed hold of songwriting, there was no stopping him. David has released multiple projects including Hardcore, Welcome to the Kingdom: Identity,and Straight Shot. He created the music company, PureTunes, out of a desire to impact the world through music (www.puretunesmusic.com).

David’s music has a unique sound, but it has a feeling of home to the soul. It is colorful, bold, and exciting, yet nourishing and satisfying with its word of truth that is spoken through it. David has been given the vision and call to reach the world. It is his goal to serve the community through his gifts, unified with one message – God’s love for all mankind. “Checkmate” applies the sovereignty of God to the current events and situations of our day. It is purposed to be an encouragement to those who face push back in the world because they choose to live righteously. It echoes the message of Galatians 6:7-10, discussing how believers in Christ should continue doing good – even when it gets tough. If we persevere, in the end, we’ll be rewarded. “Checkmate” also uses the analogy of a chess game, with the King piece representing God, in its importance to the entire game. Whereas in chess, the king mostly relies on other pieces to secure a winning checkmate, God has the events of history lined up and already holds victory. So, in this sense, He owns the checkmate.
